Application Specialist

The Applications Specialist is responsible for test cutting for customer-supplied sample materials and performance of the cutting system during demonstrations and tradeshows. Application Specialists also support the sales team and customer with applications-related items and issues along with traveling to customer locations for specific machine training and consulting.

Essential Functions

  • Perform customer demonstrations
  • Assist in the planning and execution of trade shows and sales events
  • Carry out test cutting for the sales team
  • Coordinate periodic training for the Service Department with new functions and features
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of the demo rooms and hardware
  • Arrange demonstration materials for scheduled demos
  • Perform demonstrations for hardware, software, and appropriate data workflow, i.e. RIP to cut
  • Complete all test cuts assigned to you in a prompt time frame, goal is to have test cuts complete within 5 business days, once they are marked ready to test
  • Customer training
  • Daily monitoring of the Application Salesforce dashboard to see when new tasks are assigned to you
  • Maintain records in Salesforce when a test cut is complete
  • Assist end-user with their application questions
  • Log all relevant application support issues into Salesforce as a case
  • Create ZCC material Profiles as needed for end-users
  • Log into the Application ACD group
  • Follow and participate in Zund America LinkedIn users’ group
  • Assist the Service team with any Application and Training issues that may arise with the end-users
  • Assist service department with service and installs when required
  • Assist in the planning of trade shows and demonstration sample materials
  • Disassemble and assemble the equipment at shows
  • Help with the planning and execution of trade shows and sales events
  • Keep a proper inventory of show/demonstration materials and jobs on hand
  • Aid in the packing up of show-related items, i.e. hardware, software, sample jobs, booth assets
  • Travel to customer sites to perform machine, software, and workflow training
  • Travel to customer sites to perform machine, software, and workflow consulting
  • Coordinate and perform larger group trainings, both in-person and virtually


  • Extensive understanding of ZAM products, workflows, processes, and procedures
  • Proficient in MS Office; familiarity with Salesforce is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills

  • Excellent customer service skills
