Field Service Technician – Digital Cutting Systems
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Field Service Technician to install, maintain, and repair digital cutting systems. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring optimal machine performance and customer satisfaction through high-quality technical support and service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, commission, and configure digital cutting machines at customer sites
- Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on mechanical, electrical, and software components
- Diagnose faults and implement effective solutions in a timely manner
- Provide on-site and remote technical support to customers
- Train operators on machine use, safety procedures, and basic maintenance
- Complete detailed service reports and maintain accurate records of work performed
- Liaise with internal teams regarding technical issues, spare parts, and service updates
- Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety standards at all times
- Travel to customer sites as required
Skills and Experience
- Proven experience in a service technician or field service role (preferably with CNC, digital cutting, or automated machinery)
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
- Basic understanding of control systems, software, and networking
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Valid driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications
- Trade qualification in electrical, mechanical, or mechatronics engineering
- Ideally first experience with digital cutting systems (Zünd or similar platforms)
- Knowledge of CAD/CAM software workflows
- PLC or motion control experience (advantageous)
