Preservation Equipment showcases Zünd Cutter versatility with bespoke stand at Museums + Heritage Show

Preservation Equipment Ltd (PEL), renowned for their conservation-grade storage solutions, has taken their production expertise to new creative heights, unveiling a completely bespoke exhibition stand at this year’s Museums + Heritage Show, designed and built entirely in-house using their Zünd
digital cutter.

As a leading manufacturer of custom archival boxes for museums and heritage institutions, the PEL team pushed the capabilities of their Zünd cutter even further, using the same trusted technology and materials to construct a striking, large-scale display.

“We wanted to create a stand using honeycomb board and our own acid-free corrugated box board the same material used to make conservation boxes found in museums around the world,” said Lloyd Bluett, in-house designer at PEL. “We chose this approach because we knew that museum professionals and archivists would immediately recognise the material. It’s familiar, trusted, and reflective of the work we, and they, do every day.”

By combining sustainable honeycomb with its proprietary conservation-grade materials and cutting it all on the Zünd, PEL demonstrated how tools used for delicate archival work can also deliver bold and innovative structural design. “This project was about showing what’s possible with the equipment we already use,” added Lloyd. “It reflects our values — sustainability, precision, and innovation — whether we’re making a single archival box or building an entire exhibition stand.”

The result is a visually compelling presence at the show that not only celebrates the versatility of the Zünd cutter but also highlights PEL’s deep connection to the heritage and conservation community.
