Label Printer Module - LPM
The Label Printer Module – LPM is an automated system designed to print and apply self adhesive labels directly onto cut parts. As the demand for part marking, identification and traceability increases, the ability to add QR codes and clear-text has become essential for many manufacturing workflows.
The LPM provides an effective alternative to direct marking methods such as inkjet printer or felt pen plotting. It enables fully automatic, unattended label application, ensuring continuous and uninterrupted production on Zünd G3 and D3 cutters.
Customer Benefits
The LPM is particularly beneficial for customers who:
- must ensure reliable track and trace processes (e.g., aerospace, automotive, pharmaceutical).
- require high print quality independent of the substrate surface condition (direct printing depends heavily on material quality and surface texture).
- process highly absorbent or fibrous materials that cannot be marked using inkjet printing.
- need temporary markings that are not intended for the final customer product.
- appreciate a quick and easy roll change
Purpose of Labeling
Labels are used primarily for identifying and tracking individual cut parts. The printed content is derived from the job metadata and can vary for every single label.
Typical reasons for labeling cut parts include:
- Track and trace throughout the production workflow
- Identification along the value chain
- Optimization of manufacturing logistics (e.g., temporary storage)
- Quality assurance, where labels are applied to protocol sheets
- Digitization of the cut part using a machine-readable QR code
