Field Technician

Position Summary

As an industry leader of digital finishing equipment, the Zund Service Technician performs physical tasks related to the Zünd cutting systems. This involves, but is not limited to, onsite installations and services. Providing onsite maintenance services and troubleshooting in the field in varying environments. While not in the field, service technicians are responsible for telephone/help desk support for customers. As a main contact person for our customers, this individual represents Zünd and must therefore identify themselves closely with the company, products, and clientele. This position can often be physically challenging and demanding as the work environment can vary. This position requires willingness to travel, up to 80%, throughout the United States and internationally.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform onsite installation and service of Zünd digital finishing equipment
  • Provide paperwork related to the installation and service of Zünd digital finishing equipment (service report, warranty certificates, expense reports)
  • Troubleshooting and phone support for Zünd customers
  • Customer service on Zünd related equipment and products
  • Follow up with service related issues to make sure they are resolved and documented
  • Evaluate warranty exchanges and checking of returned spare parts and related paperwork
  • Ability to learn specific software related to Zünd digital finishing equipment
  • Train customers on use of Zünd cutters and related software both onsite and via phone support
  • Cut samples on our demo machines for potential customers with sales representatives
  • Assist with preparing for trade shows (May require weekend travel)
  • Assist in “in house” demos
  • Fill in where needed; follow instructions of Zünd procedures and Zünd Service Manager

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Solid mechanical and electrical aptitude
  • General computer skills (MS Windows, Word, Excel, Acrobat Reader. Familiar with Mac, Adobe Illustrator, AutoCAD a plus.)
  • Willing to work flexible hours and overnight travel up to 80%
  • Must have valid driver’s license
  • Great communications skills (ability to train and interact with Zünd customers)
  • Energetic and self-motivated
  • Good team player
  • Honest, dependable, reliable
  • Good driving record
  • Ability to acquire a passport and travel internationally
  • “On the go” problem solver
  • Ability to work unsupervised
  • Strong desire for customer satisfaction
