Pagani again opts for Zünd

Pagani again opts for Zünd: with a new Zünd G3 L-2500 cutting system, the Italian super-car manufacturer increases production capacity by 20%.

Pagani’s exclusive sports cars undoubtedly represent the pinnacle of perfection in the art of Italian automobile manufacturing. For the past 25 years, the company has been making the Huayra BC and other super cars in San Cesario sul Panaro near Modena. The chassis for these cars is made entirely of carbon fiber, and Zünd has long been Pagani’s preferred choice of digital cutting technology for processing these materials. The company recently added a Zünd G3 L-2500 cutting system.

Fast, versatile, reliable
The new Zünd G3 cutter is well equipped to meet the challenges of digitally cutting carbon fiber. All electronics are protected from the damaging effects of conductive dust particles. The cutting tools used for processing composites were developed specifically for carbon fiber applications, and they, too, are protected with positive pressure from abrasive dust and the damage it can cause. For Pagani’s Roberto Malmusi, Manager Composites Department, the Zünd Electric Oscillating Tool EOT is the perfect solution for cutting carbon fiber: “The EOT is extremely versatile, and we use it for cutting all kinds of carbon fiber materials very quickly and very reliably.“ For processing honeycomb, which is at the core of the carbon fiber components, Pagani uses the Pneumatic Oscillating Tool POT. With its long stroke, the pneumatic tool supplies the power required to cut honeycomb board quickly and reliably.

First choice for cutting carbon fiber
Roberto Malmusi is particularly thrilled with the performance of the new Zünd G3 cutter and the system’s intuitive user interface and workflow software, Zünd Cut Center ZCC. We were able to increase our production capacity by more than 20% over the older cutting system. “The performance of the Zünd G3 is amazing. Our decision to purchase this machine was based on the fact that it is clearly the most advanced and most productive digital cutting system on the market.”
